Mental Blocks Aren’t Really Blocks

Mental Blocks Aren’t Really Blocks

Since the 80s, we’ve been conditioned to think positively, and when negativity arises, we’re told we’re facing a mental or emotional block. To me, that feels like the blind leading the blind. There are no blocks—only feelings and thoughts that are misunderstood.

When you feel like you’re hitting a block, it’s simply you reaching the edge of your comfort zone. If you stop believing everything your mind is telling you and start tuning into your body, you’ll be guided to uncover which beliefs about yourself are ready and waiting to be elevated.

The reason it feels like a block is because you haven’t been paying attention.

A friend of mine, J, called me recently and said her anxiety had returned. She began explaining what she thought the cause was, but I stopped her and encouraged her to listen to her body instead. She paused for a moment, and then said, “It feels like I’m in a hurry.”

“In what area of your life do you feel the need to speed up?” I asked. She then went on to tell me about all the things happening in her life—most of them exciting—like work, her kids, and a new relationship.

All of her focus was outward.

“Your body is asking for your attention,” I told her.

The moment I said that, she relaxed.

Do you see how something as intense as anxiety isn’t necessarily bad? It’s just signaling something. Uncomfortable? Yes. But not bad.

There are no mental blocks—only guidance from within.

What is behind the next corner?

You never know what is hiding behind the next corner.

If you think back on life I am sure that you can see many situations where life took a different turn. It might not have felt very significant then. But looking back it was.

Life is full of surprises. Why not expect good ones?

I believe I can

I know I am good enough

Except everytime when I don´t.

Logically I know that but sometimes my feelings tell me something different.

What I often hear from my clients is how they mix doing with being. “Not until I make X amount of money I am not good enough”. “When I lose X amount of weight I will be good (looking) enough

And still, they would never judge another person in the same situation.
